“This award is testament to everyone’s hard work in maintaining our high health and safety standards on site and in our offices.”

Andy Shuttlewood‍, director of health, safety, environment & quality

Tarmac has been awarded the internationally recognised RoSPA Gold award for the fifth year running, demonstrating our high health and safety standards in 2023. This award reflects our ongoing commitment to ensuring employees and contractors get home safely to their families at the end of every working day.

The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) Awards are prestigious and well recognised around the world, with almost 2,000 entries every year from more than 50 countries, and a total reach of over seven million employees. Running for nearly 70 years, the RoSPA Awards recognise and reward organisations, individuals and teams that go above and beyond to achieve health and safety excellence.

Andy Shuttlewood, director of health, safety, environment & quality, said: “It’s harder than ever to be recognised for one of these awards and I believe that the work we have all done around engagement, communication, well-being, and our safety incident improvement performance has helped us achieve a gold medal five years in a row. We want to work together to continually ensure that we improve and learn from areas where we are performing well.”
