“We are fully committed to supporting the UK’s ambition of net-zero carbon emissions by 2050 and have been proactive in making significant changes to our business and product portfolio for many years.”
Jonathan Harry, procurement director

As part of our commitment to the EV100, we have started to upgrade our 2,000-strong fleet of corporate cars and vans to electric vehicles (EV), as well as installing EV charging points and infrastructure in key business locations across the country. The EV100 is a global initiative bringing together businesses committed to accelerating the transition to electric vehicles.

Electric vehicles are now available through our company car scheme, providing our employees with the option to make the switch at the end of their lease. We currently have 51 electric vehicles within our company car fleet and have been trialling electric vans on some of our sites.

We also have 5 electric vehicles on our JB Riney fleet, which have been introduced over the last 6 months. Riney are aiming to procure an electric alternative if available, when a vehicle is identified for replacement. To help support this change electric charging points have been installed at 50 percent of their depots.

To enable our employees to make the switch to electric we have started to install electric chargers at our sites. At our head office in Solihull, we have installed eight 7kW chargers to support the use of EVs. The system has been installed by Gronkontakt, part of the Statkraft Group and has been designed so that additional points can be added in quickly and easily when further development is required.
